Fiberglass Tanks
Fiberglass reinforced plastic tanks are built to your order in standard diameters. The straight shell is manufactured and fitted with the proper ends for each order. Each tank application is analyzed with respect to chemical environment, operating temperature, specific gravity and available floor space to ensure that the type of construction, resin system and accessories will provide the maximum service life.
Filament Wound:
Features an inner resin surface that is reinforced with glass or synthetic surface veil, 10-20 mils. This is reinforced with 100 mils, of random length chopped glass 20-30%. The wall is then built to thickness by filament winding continuous glass roving 60-70% followed by an exterior resin coating.
Hand Layup:
Features the same corrosion barrier construction as above except that the wall is built to thickness by successive layers of chopped glass 30% and resin. This is followed by an exterior resin-rich coating. Standard fiberglass tanks are designed for specific gravities up to 1.50 and atmospheric pressure. Heavier fluids can be safely contained by tanks with thicker walls. All fiberglass tanks must have free vent to the atmosphere to prevent internal pressure or vacuum.
